It was recently announced that Schwickert’s has again been named an Accredited Quality Contractor by Associated Builders and Contractors. Only 450 of the nation’s elite merit shop construction contractors earn the credential.
What It Means to Be an Accredited Quality Contractor
The AQC designation isn’t just another award—it’s a recognition of the highest standards in construction quality. ABC developed the AQC program to honor companies that have built an exceptional workplace culture and that go above and beyond in their business practices. Achieving AQC status requires meeting criteria across several critical areas: safety, employee well-being, community involvement, and workforce development.
The Criteria
The AQC designation honors contractors who excel in five major areas.
Quality: Schwickert’s has been in operation for 118 years for a reason. Our Quality Control Program is among the best in the industry and features a Quality Control Manager with 40 years of experience. We are very active with Tool Box Talks, Apprentice Program, Random Quality Visits, and more.
Health & Safety: Safety is foundational at Schwickert’s. We have many measures in place to keep the high Safety standard, including a Safety Manager with 30 years of experience. Our Safety program includes Tool Box Talks, Job Hazard Assessments, Mandatory Safety Planning, Company-Wide Safety Day, and more.
