Saint Peter Public Schools ISD #508 began the groundbreaking of it’s new High School in October of 2015. The general contractor on the new construction project was Kraus Anderson and the architect was ISG. As architectural metals contractor, Schwickert’s began work on the metal panels in 2017.
Schwickert’s fabricated the rain screen system in-house, utilizing 4mm Alucobond PE material in Brilliant Silver Metallic color. Schwickert’s also source and then installed 3,200 square feet of Firestone Delta Series panels in .040” aluminum in Silver Metallic color. Almost all areas of both the rain screen and Delta panels were insulated with 3” Thermafiber mineral wool insulation.
In total, Schwickert’s fabricated and installed nearly 10,000 square feet of rain screen aluminum composite panel system over a large area of the building exterior of the high school.
The east and west entrances on Saint Peter High School building included sloped roof overhangs that also tapered making it very difficult to accurately measure. These areas required the use of 3-D scanning technology, which saved many hours of layout and measuring.
