Schwickert’s completed roofing projects on two important buildings for Gustavus Aldophus College, Uhler Hall and the Campus Center, in the summer of 2024. The Campus Center houses the cafeteria, offices, and student spaces. Uhler Hall is a dormitory for the students. Each project involved removing the existing membrane to install a new TPO roof. One of the primary goals was to complete the work before the students returned to campus so that college life would not be disrupted.
Water management was significantly enhanced on each roof by using high-quality materials such as tapered poly ISO insulation and .60-mil Carlisle TPO. Crickets were utilized for drainage as well as tapering of the insulation. This all gives the new roofing system better energy efficiency and durable protection. Schwickert’s completed Uhler Hall first, before moving on to the Campus Center. The quality, attention to detail, and organized manner in
which the teams worked resulted in a long-lasting and weathertight solution.
