Schwickert’s worked as roofing conractor for Bethany Lutheran College for a reroofing project of 10 different areas of their Old Main dormatory during the summer of 2024. The crews had a tight deadline to complete the work before students returned for the fall semester.
For the larger roof sections, the team removed the membrane and anchored the wood fiberboard. They installed a new Carlisle adhered 60-mil membrane, providing a durable, weather-resistant solution. In other sections, they removed a previously ballasted EPDM roof. After stripping it down, they replaced it with new wood fiber and installed a ballasted Carlisle EPDM system, this time loose-laid with rocks to hold it in place.
With the use of both a crane and a Lull, materials were efficiently managed across the multiple sections. Because of the team’s commitment to the deadline, the dormitory was ready for the return of the students in the fall.
