In just 5 days, Schwickert’s completed a 57,500-square-foot roofing project at Benedictine Living Community – St. Gertrude’s in Shakopee, MN. The
scope involved removing old asphalt shingles across eight different buildings that had been affected by hail damage. This also included 21,500 square feet on a two-story section with a steeper 5/12 pitch, while the rest were single story 4/12 pitch sections. Our team then reinstalled new CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Moire Black color, along with fresh underlayment, to give the facility a clean, durable, and reliable new covering.
Despite the large scale of the project and the lack of spacious setup and working areas, our team was organized and efficient. Limited space meant working closely with the customer and the neighboring hospital campus for parking and staging to protect vehicles from potential debris and divert people away from active reroof areas. Our team was also very mindful of the full-time residents on-site and kept the area as clean as possible and the disruption to a minimum.
In addition to the new roof installation, we provide ongoing support through Tecta Tracker and HVAC Tracker—our asset management programs. These tools help facilities monitor their roofing and HVAC systems to know when it’s time for replacement or maintenance. Through annual inspections we can pinpoint storm or other damage that can’t be seen from the ground.
